Meredith's Culligan first location was opened by William Meredith in Union Grove, WI in 1947. Working as an electrician after World War II, Culligan portable exchange tanks installed in homes piqued his curiosity. After some research, he decided that it represented an excellent opportunity. He purchased the original franchise rights from Emmett Culligan for just $1, regenerated the tanks in his mothers basement for many years. basement of William's mother's home on Main Street in Union Grove and continued there for several years. The company expanded and in 1986, the Company was sold to Don Meredith, Bill's son. The Forest Park/Broadview location was purchased in 1998.
